Today was a very good day for Jason down in the O.R., as they were checking to see how well the skin graft took. I was hoping that we would get as much as an 80% take of the recent grafting. Dr. Malone said she felt it was 85%, so as far as I am concerned it was exceptionally good news, and that things are going very positive for us right now. We will have another update on Friday, when Jason goes down again, and if it is another positive report we may be looking at a departure date being set up real soon.

Well, the only "high" profile visitor Jason had today was the Congressman from the 3rd District in North Carolina, Walter Jones. The 3rd District is where Jason and Bridgette have their house in Jacksonville. Anyway, it was a nice visit and the Congressman said that if there was anything that Jason needed to let him know. Right now I'm not sure what we might ask of him, but it is nice to know that he is willing to help if it is needed. Sherri Beck from Wounded EOD Warriors Foundation also came by for another visit, and it is always good to see her. She and her foundation is also letting us know that they are there to help us, and all we need to do is let them know how they can help.

Actually, not much else going on today, aside from the regular visits from the medical staff. Tomorrow Jason has said he would like to try getting out of bed and moving around some. This is a good thing, and indicates that all those tender spots are beginning to feel less painful and he is willing to push it a bit. Not sure what all we will do, though I'd guess one of the places will be the MATC and going to a few of the other guy's rooms to visit. We understand there is another patient, an Army guy, who has wounds similar to Jason, and the doctors would like Jason to go visit him to help him see that there is a positive outcome from all the treatment that he will have.

Please continue to pray for Jason's recovery and that the grafting continues to show signs of improvement. Thank you, to all for all that you have done - it is appreciated.

  2. HI Jason and George - what wonderful news you had to share today about the grafting! Jason I must say you are an inspiration for all that you have endured to be willing to go out and help another Wounded Warrior. No one can really give him the info that he needs to hear like you can. You are going to be the best medicine for him at this time. Thank-you for paying it forward.
