Happy Tax Day! Okay, maybe not such a happy day for everyone... ;-)

Today was certainly a good day here. Jason was in pretty good spirits and is looking forward to tomorrow's medical appointment. We are all hoping that the doctor is happy with how the wounds have progressed and will okay his getting back into his chair. Getting back into his chair means so much for him (and for the rest of us, too), as it allows him to move about the house and be with his kids more; it means he can get back into a routine of going to his physical therapy, where he has a better chance of doing exercise with a trainer; it means he will be another step closer to getting his own vehicle and getting that extra step of independence; and, it will be a chance for him to finally get out of his room, when he wants too.

Jason received a call to coordinate a meeting, tomorrow, with the folks who do robotics work, for helping the wounded warriors, allowing them to gain some independence. Apparently they will be coming over around 13:30, so we will be able to see just what it is they offer. The possibilities are very high and exciting for all of us, so we continue to be positive about the future.Jason also received a letter from the Gary Sinise Foundation and The Carrington Corporation. They are working jointly to insure that Jason's house is built, and built to his specifications. It was a great letter and what made it particularly exciting is that it was signed by Michael Barrett, Jason's former First Sergeant when he was at Bethesda. We got to know Michael pretty good, and found him to be a great guy to get things done. (Note: This is not the same Micheal Barrett who is the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. - They know each other very well, but are two different people).

When the girls came home from school today they were full of energy and wanted to still get out and play. I took them to the park, and let them play there for about 1/2 an hour and Stacy said she wanted to go back to the house. Jackie wasn't ready to go back inside, so we then all went out in the backyard and they played with the scooter and tricycle, while snacking on some Quinoa and Black Bean Tortilla Chips and humus (Linda introduced this snack and the girls love it). This gave Linda time to fix dinner and when it was ready, the girls were ready to head back in. We had a great dinner and relaxed evening, with me telling the girls stories with characters using their names, and it made them laugh, and finally it was bed time. I hope tomorrow is as good a day as today has been. Thank you, for all the continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

  1. Christ went through all this for us, that we might have hope! Praying so that it's a go to being able to be up finally!
Isaiah 53:7-10: He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

  2. Christ suffered in our place that we might have the hope of Heaven! Always praying!
Isaiah 53:11-12 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
