Again, I have no reasonable excuse other than to say I got side tracked. On the last post I mentioned that Jason had gotten injured, while playing in the hockey tournament. Well, as it turned out it was a more serious injury than either of us had suspected. The outcome was that he lost some soft tissue and a section of his pelvic bone was exposed (about the size of a quarter) and he is now required to have a wound-vac so that it can heal properly. This means that he has to spend most of his time in bed and can only be up in his chair for no more than 20 minutes at a time, and that followed by hours of rest time. The rest time is for the injury, and not necessarily for Jason, as he isn't tired. As you can imagine, he gets very board with this "life style" and wants to get up and go do something.

We've been going in to wound-care frequently, once or twice each week, and they keep telling us, "...we'll take a look at it next week, to see what happens next." There has been healing and we can tell that it is getting better, but not good enough to loose the wound-van. Once that happens, Jason will be able to get out and do a few more things. The Ducks, Jason's sled hockey team, won the next tournament, that followed the one where he was injured. It was one of those good-news/bad-news kind of things where they won, but Jason was able to play. It was a National Tournament and held in Florida. Both he and I were looking forward to going to it. That is okay though, as we can always plan on next years big tournament, wherever that turns out to be.

The girls are doing well, and getting bigger. Stacy is now 10 and Jackie is 8, and they are both looking forward to school ending for summer break. Stacy is so anxious to turn into a teenager and we just want to keep her as she is right now. She is nearly as tall as Linda, and very slender. Jackie is growing, but not as fast as Stacy, and not as slender. Stacy likes to go on bike rides with grandpa (me) and we've gone close to 15 miles. I think the new bike that Jason purchased for her helps, as it is much bigger than the other one and can adjust better as she continues to grow. Jackie hasn't shown much interest in bike riding, so we'll just keep working with her until she decides what she wants to do, besides ride her scooter.

Right now our biggest challenge is trying to put together our summer vacation schedule. We can make a few guesses as to what we might want to do, but with Jason being the big question it makes it kind of difficult to really make plans. Whatever it turns out to be, if we go somewhere we'll be driving, as Jason just doesn't do well with airplanes, and we now have that van where he can ride a bit more comfortably for longer distances. We'll come up with something, but for now it is going to simply have to be a planning time. Hope you all have a great time ahead of you and that you find the blog still interesting to read. Thank you, for reading... Take care and stay positive.
