Okay, time for some updates... The truck has been picked up (today) and taken back to the shop to be worked on. Initially it was something that could be adjusted right here, in the garage, and we were hoping that it would end up being that way. Oh, well, at least it is going to be corrected and we hope that it will be ready in a day or two. Jason hasn't driven his truck in a few weeks now and I'm sure he is anxiously waiting for them to get it fixed, right this time.

We have a new house guest - Yolanda, Jason's God-mother. We have been friends with Steve and Yolanda for almost 40 years (yes, longer than Jason has been around), and we have and probably always will, have a great relationship with them. Yolanda did come down to visit a little with Jason and spend some time with him, but the real reason is so that she and Linda can get out and do a little "girl-time" together. Both of them need to get out and just spend some time together. Steve, Yolanda's husband, will be coming down in a few days and the two of them will head back up to the SF Bay Area this weekend. I'm particularly glad to see Yolanda because I could tell that Linda needed to get out with an old friend for a few hours, and this works out great.

We will be headed out to Colorado this Sunday, and be there for 8 days. There is a little still to be determined, about the trip, but the days are effectively set. The reason for the trip is so that Jason can go work with one of the vendors that supports the VA, and works with the guys who have to stay in wheelchairs, at least most of the time. They have a target of creating a seating solution for Jason that should help to allow him a little more mobility, and quite frankly, I'm pretty excited to see what they have to offer. Jason, on the other hand, is interested in what they have to offer, but is holding back his excitement until something is delivered. He has been promised things in the past with many of them not happening.

There is also progress with the team at Cal Poly, and their effort to develop a suspension system that is supposed to help relieve some of the pressure off Jason's wounds. If they can get this to become a reality (and it does look very promising), their solution, plus the new seat should be exactly what Jason is needing to complete his healing. We're in communication with them, and have had a number of video conferencing meetings, as well as a face-to-face a few months ago. Please keep these guys in your prayers and ask God to provide them with the wisdom needed to get this done.

Having said all that, about Jason's healing, the good news is that there has been some good progress over these past several weeks, and he is looking better all the time. We still go through dressing changes on a daily basis, and it has just about become a "normal" daily activity for the both of us. I am going to be so glad when they are no longer needed. Possibly by the end of February or in early March - - - and that brings me to another subject. Jason's Five-Alive anniversary!

We are going to be celebrating Jason being alive and surviving for five years after the injuries in March. We're probably going to be going with March 12, since it is a Saturday, and we hope to have a bunch of people come to help celebrate. I'll be reaching out to some of the folks in Bethesda, as well as here in San Diego, and I hope I am providing them with enough time to plan for a trip. If not we'll still have fun, just not as much. Anyway, if you'd like to make it to Jason's survival party, do your best to let us know, and I'll get an official invitation out to you. Thank you, for all the continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

  1. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
What comfort to be hidden under His wings! There's no better place to be! Praying right now!
Psalms 61:1-4 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

  2. Pouring out my heart to the Lord on your behalf!
Psalms 62:5-8 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

  3. No matter what we're facing the first thing we should do is pray! That's what I'm doing for you right now!
Psalms 63:1-2 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

  4. When you're all alone in the middle of the night, the Lord is not only with you, He's holding you up with His right hand! Praying!
Psalms 63:5-8 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

  5. These verses contain the reason why we have the hope of life to come. Continuing to pray!
Ephesians 1:17-20 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places...

  6. Hope you're still having a good time!
Know that you're in my prayers right now!
Ephesians 3:14-21 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
