So, Happy Ground Hog Day!

Today has been a very nice and enjoyable day. The girls came back from their mother's place and will be staying with us for the next 5 days; we were able to get some pictures hung in the house (Linda is redecorating one of the rooms in the motif of Western; we got to sleep in a little, okay, we were still up a little after 07:00 this morning, but that's still better than 06:30; AND, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow.

Next weekend Jason has a sled hockey tournament and it is actually pretty close, considering the previous one was in Minneapolis... We're all looking forward to the tournament and we've invited a bunch of folks from around here to come and see him play (yeah, I'll do my best to remember to post some pictures). Jason really enjoys the action and I believe the social interactivity he gets into with the other players, both on his team and those of the other teams. Most of the players are there and just want to have fun, some of them do get a little more aggressive than they should, but fortunately it doesn't mess it up for the rest of them. What I really like to see is that there are women players out on the ice, too, and some of them are just as active as some of the guys. Also we are continuing to work with some new prosthetic companies, in the hope that they can provide the support he needs, without us having to fly back to Colorado, every time there needs to be an adjustment. And, for those wondering... his wounds have kind of stalled again, or at least slowed down considerably. He stays healthy and active, so that's the good news.

The girls are continuing to do well in school. Jackie is dealing with a few extra challenges but still seems to enjoy going. Stacy is doing very well in her class and they are now talking about placing her in some advanced studies, and I think that is what she needs. They both love to read and Stacy enjoys her drawing and art. Jason has wanted to take the girls up to the snow, for a couple of years now, and it looks like we're finally going to be able to accomplish it. We'll be taking them up to Northstar a little later this month, and just hope that there is enough snow on the ground for them to have a good time, we'll see.

Linda and I are doing our best to keep up with the two girls, and are finding it to be really fun at times, as it brings back some interesting memories of when our boys were younger. Of course, girls are different from raising boys, but some things just seem to trigger those memories. Funny how that happens, but I'm so glad that we do have those memories.

The weather has been very odd. The winters in So. Cal. are generally pretty mild and sometimes even warm. This year, though, the temps have been up in the 90's and high 80's. There really hasn't been much in the way of rain, though I know there is still plenty of season to get through. The fire from this past Fall, did some damage, but the surroundings have been able to repair themselves pretty quickly, and things are looking much better. Thank you, for the continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

  1. The Lord will get you through whatever you have to face. Lifting up prayer right now!
Psalms 62:5-6 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

  2. Continuing to lift up prayer for you!
Psalms 32:6-7 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

  3. Continuing to pray!
