Apologies to one and all. I know a bunch of you were wanting to see an update, especially yesterday, but I just didn't get to it. YES, we did celebrate, in a very low key way, Jason's seventh year since the blast. It was his 7th Alive Day, and we were quite busy. The girls were with us and due to their busy schedule, we decided not to go out and do anything and just stay home and be the simple family that we are (okay, maybe not so simple).
Over these past few weeks, Jason had a Sled Hockey Tournament, in Arizona - Scottsdale - and the Ducks took third place. It would have been nice to do a little better and it was recognized that what we need to work on is a better defense. The offence is actually pretty good, and thus that is why we did as well as we did. One other thing was that we found out our goalie, Joe, was quite ill and really should not have been playing, especially that last game. He ended up in the hospital with a real nasty infection. They kept him for a couple of days and gave him antibiotics and then he was much better. I felt kind of bad because when I looked at him, prior to the game I noticed he didn't look well, and even asked him if he needed anything. Well, we still had a good game, and if we had our defense working as it should I really think we might have won... Joe still did a pretty good job in the net.
The girls are still with their Tae Kwon Do training, and moving forward with their belts. Stacy is doing a little better than Jackie, but that doesn't seem to slow either of them down, and that is a good thing, to be sure. Jason is very proud of the girls and lets them know it. They get to spend a bunch of time with their dad, and it is easy to see they love being with him. They love their grandma and grandpa too, but daddy is the important one.
Next month there is going to be another tournament, in Chicago, and I'm working on getting all the logistics in place. Travel and accommodations are always the biggest challenge. Because of Jason's needs we generally need to be there a day early, and possibly stay a day later, to give Jason the time needed to recover from the travel, or rest to prepare for travel. Bottom line is that travel is as hard on him as anything else, and we need to figure that one out. Thank you, all for that continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

Continuing to pray!
ReplyDeletePsalms 121:5-6 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
Keep your eyes on the only true source of peace and strength. He is with you always! Continuing to lift up prayer!
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 26:3-4 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.
Happy Alive Day!! and good at the tournament!
