Last week I talked about Linda going to North Carolina and then on to Washington, D.C. and now I am happy to say she will be coming home this weekend (Saturday). It is going to be a bit of a rough trip for Linda, as she will be flying in and arriving in San Diego at about 11:30 and then we head off to Legoland to spend the rest of the day there, with the girls and another family. The Zbic family has three children, and two of the are the same age as Stacy and Jackie, so it should be a fun evening (Their third child is much younger).
We went to a Team Building event with Jason's sled hockey team, on Wednesday. It was over at Mission Bay, pretty close to where we used to live, and it gave Jason a chance to get to know some of the other players a little more, away from the ice. I was there because I was invited, and also because Jason doesn't like to drive at night... actually, I think most people don't like to drive at night. We were at the event until it got pretty dark, and it was almost 21:00 (9pm) and everybody was ready to leave.
Jason's wounds are still working to heal, though we are having some problems with a couple of the smaller areas. Its kinda funny how that works, as the larger area is mending up very well, and the two smaller areas are slowing down considerably. We continue to work closely with the Wound Care folks and it seems the efforts are yielding good results. The other thing we have to do is to continue to work with the VA and Aspen Seating, out of Colorado, as the prosthetic needs to have some modifications done to it. With Jason continuing to go to the gym he is going to be experiencing some physical body changes and thus the prosthetic is going to fit differently.
Otherwise we're living life, one day at a time and not much different than anybody else. The school for the girls is becoming a regular way of life for the girls and us; other life experiences, such as going to the library or the parks is still important; and, their Taekwondo training continues on a regular basis. Thank you, for all the continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

Lifting you up in prayer to our only Savior right now!
ReplyDeletePsalms 31:2 Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.
The hardest time to know that the Lord is truly with you is during the worst trials. You can still rejoice in the Lord because He WILL get you through whatever you have to face. Praying!
ReplyDeleteHabakkuk 3:17-19 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places...
