Another laid back Saturday. Jason spent most of the day in bed, and playing his video games or watching T.V. I am so glad that he is aware of the need for him to stay down as much as he can, to help with the healing. I can see it in his eyes that he would like to get out and go do something, but staying down is the best thing for him. Now that I've said that, he and I will be headed over to the Presbyterian Church tomorrow for the first time. We won't be out and about any more than we need to, but it just feels like now is the time to go. I really miss going to church, and I think he does too. Not much else going on today other than my bike ride. I did about 15 miles and it was a nice ride. Actually, I'm not sure if I was just lucky or what, but it seemed that all the people I came across were very friendly. This is in sharp contrast to the last time I went. Most of the folks then were rude, so today was very refreshing. Thank you, for continuing to support us and follow the blog and thanks also for all the prayers. Good night.

    Sounds like a good day for the Ross men!! I'm sorry that Jason has to go through any of this but staying off the wounds will help him. I look forward to the day that he can go snorkeling!! I want to go too.

I know I haven't been keeping up with the blog and posting as often as I said I would, but I guess that's what happens when the days really do start to seem more normal, and don't feel like there is much to update about. Then when there is something exciting going on, by the time I can get to the blog I'm pretty well worn out for the day and then I'm slow to get to it afterward. Well, I will continue to provide updates, as I can and we'll just have to see where it takes us. Jason's sled hockey season is over and he had a great time with it. He was not able to go to the final tournament, in Chicago, due to travel challenges. First challenge was simply getting there - there really isn't any way to get there, that doesn't simply totally wear him out, and then he needs the next day to recover. Again, I have no reasonable excuse other than to say I got side tracked. On the last post I mentioned that Jason had gotten injured, while playing in the hockey tournament. Well, as it turned out it was a more serious injury than either of us had suspected. The outcome was that he lost some soft tissue and a section of his pelvic bone was exposed (about the size of a quarter) and he is now required to have a wound-vac so that it can heal properly. This means that he has to spend most of his time in bed and can only be up in his chair for no more than 20 minutes at a time, and that followed by hours of rest time. The rest time is for the injury, and not necessarily for Jason, as he isn't tired. As you can imagine, he gets very board with this "life style" and wants to get up and go do something. We've been going in to wound-care frequently, once or twice each week, and they keep telling us, "...we'll take a look at it next week, to see what happens next....

Happy St. Patty's Day!

To day was a good day for Jason, as they removed the breathing tube from his mouth and throat, and his medications and pain meds were lowered. All this lead to him being able to begin talking to us, and have visitors, other than from family. On top of that, Bridgette came with the girls today (she went a short time ago to go pick them up), so he'll be able to see and speak with them as well. Of course tomorrow is Friday, and he is scheduled for another surgery (I'll talk more about that later) so we will need to go visit with him early in the morning, and then later tomorrow we will be able to visit with him again. He was visited by a bunch of different doctors with all of them asking him the same basic questions of, "How are you feeling? Where do you have pain? Can you tell me where you are?" etc., etc. Then came the psychiatrist, who wanted to be sure of his mental abilities and neurological issues.
