Linda went out to Tennessee to take advantage of a retreat for Mother's of Wounded Warriors, through the Wounded Warrior Family Support.org (a great organization run by retired Marine Col. John Folsom), and it was a very nice R&R opportunity for her. She met some great people and made new friends and came back pretty refreshed. The travel to and from, via Delta Air Lines, was poor, and in fact Linda almost didn't make it home due to a cancelled flight (no explanation from Delta). She did, however fly into San Diego at about 23:00 (11pm) and because of delays in getting luggage and construction on Highway 76 we managed to get home a little after midnight. We had to be up at 06:00, to make sure everything was ready to get the girls to school, and then a bunch of other errands and chores needed to be done. To put it mildly, we're both kind of tired and will be heading to bed SOON.

I was pleased with the recent dressing change for Jason, as the wounds are showing some very positive signs of progress, and then tomorrow morning we're headed over to Balboa for Wound Care. Of course that will be after we take the girls to school, but still it is great to have morning care with them, as that gives me time to take care of other things. Speaking of other things. Linda has been home for one full day and tomorrow she is headed up to spend a couple of days with her folks.

Jess, Linda's mom, recently had valve replacement surgery on her heart, and as you can imagine, is still recovering. Linda's sister Lisa has been staying with them and has to go back to her home (Utah) so Linda is now going to be going up to spend some time with them, to help out. Linda just keeps going and going, and that is part of the reason I was happy she got to get away to Tenn. for a few days.

We have put our house up for sale, in Livermore, a friend of ours, John Carter, is listing the house and helping us. We also had help from another friend, here in San Diego, Tim Kirk, who provided us some guidance and answered many questions we've asked, getting up to the point of selling. Fortunately, both Tim and John are experienced realtors and Linda and I felt very good about the decision. Thank you, for all the continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

  1. Hope all goes well selling the house!
What a blessing to know that this isn't all there is! Continuing to pray!
Revelation 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

  2. Look to the Lord for the strength to face whatever happens. Still praying so very hard!
Isaiah 12:2-5 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted. Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
