I truly intended to make this post yesterday, but was just too tired to get it done. We had just gotten back from a short camping trip (4-days) with the girls, and it wore us out. We did, however have a great time, and Jason was even able to come for a visit, to our camp site. But, more of that later.

Over all, things are going well. Jason's wounds are continuing to improve, again and that makes all of us very happy. The weather here, has been pretty good, though a bit on the warm/hot side. Most of the days are up in the 90's and some are hitting the triple digit region. I generally have to put on a good amount of sun block every day, as do Linda and the girls. Jason seldom puts on sun block, though he does spend most of his time in doors. He does get out and takes care of his chickens, and other things, but most of his time is in the house... and we're okay with that.

This past Monday we rented an RV and took the girls to Santee Lakes and Park area. It wasn't what we would typically call camping, especially since we were in an RV, but it was a good first experience for the girls to be living out, away from the house. Jason wasn't able to come with us, but as stated earlier, he was able to come over and visit with us one afternoon and even had lunch with us. The girls were very excited about Daddy being there (so were George and Linda). Santee Lakes is only about 35 miles away, and pretty close to Balboa Hospital. Since Jason was heading that way anyway, on his way home he came over for a visit. We stayed at the Lakes (actually spruced up water treatment pounds) and it was pretty nice. The girls enjoyed activities every day, and were exploring all over the place and wanted us to take them all over. There is still much to explore, so when we go back there are still "new" things to be discovered.

When we got back home, yesterday afternoon, our focus was on unpacking and cleaning up the RV. Since it was a rental we wanted to make sure it was in as clean or better shape than when we picked it up. The RV went back today, so we all said our good-bye's to the unit and our "vacation" was officially over.

While we were out we had a former corpsman come by the house to help Jason with his needs, and it was good for Jason to have someone new to visit with. I think that is probably the biggest thing that we really need to do, and that is keep Jason's social activity going. Talking to friends and meeting and making new ones. We're going to be going shooting tomorrow, one of Jason's favorite activities, and it will give him  a chance to meet some new people, again.

That's about all for right now, and we're looking forward to the start of the up coming school year. The girls are all anxious to learn who their new teachers are going to be, and begin in on a new school year. Thank you, for all the continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

  2. Even though we might never know how, the Lord IS working no matter what's going on in your life. Praying right now!
