There has been some positive development with Jason's wounds, and I am starting to feel pretty positive that they are finally going to be healed. Of course there are a number of weeks before that is to happen, but it is looking so good right now I feel confident in saying it. We had to have an  adjustment to the prosthetic and it seems to have been the right thing to do. The challenge is that as Jason continues to change in his body shape, the corresponding change needs to be made and there is always a lag time associated with that. The prosthetist and the doctor we are working with seems pretty focused on helping Jason, and so we're pleased at this point.

Jason is also making progress with his sled hockey. The coach said he is very pleased with Jason's progress, for only having had four weeks of practice. The photos below show a little of what he looks like on the ice and what his practice runs are. Both Blue-Line drills and stick work are a regular part of their practices, and though he is a little slower than the others, he continues to want to practice and improve.

We've had the opportunity to do a little more social activities, like tonight, for instance. We were invited to the BrookHill community for their Rocktober Fest. They had dinner and music and towards the end of the evening (for us) they even played a song specifically requested by Jason (Pink Floyd - Just Another Brick in the Wall). We stayed for a couple of hours and then had to head back home, and it wasn't all because of Jason needing to lay down. I think the real reason Jason wanted to come home was because we had Stacy and Jackie with us, and we also had Olivia, one of Stacy's friends. Jason didn't want to keep them up too late. Another social activity was going to the Carrington Charitable 7th annual golf tournament. We've been invited to this event for the past four years and have only had to miss one of them. It is a great time for us to just relax and enjoy the accommodations.

Take care and stay positive - and thank you for all the continued support and prayers.

Jason working with one of the coaches - This is also the first sled they had for him.

Some stick handling - Notice the slight change in the front of the sled.

Jason doing Blue-Line drills - A new sled is being built just for him, to help with balance.

May these words sink deep down into your heart! Know that I'm here praying!
Lamentations 3:57-58 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not. O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
