Seriously, there really isn't much of an update, since I didn't get a chance to talk with him today, and yesterday it was only for a short minute or two. He sounded fine and his spirits seemed pretty positive. I think him having the girls there have done him some real good. I'll be talking with him tomorrow and then I can provide a little more information. Otherwise, please remember to keep him in your prayers and thank you, for all the prayers that have come our way. Take care and stay positive.
Happy St. Patty's Day!
To day was a good day for Jason, as they removed the breathing tube from his mouth and throat, and his medications and pain meds were lowered. All this lead to him being able to begin talking to us, and have visitors, other than from family. On top of that, Bridgette came with the girls today (she went a short time ago to go pick them up), so he'll be able to see and speak with them as well. Of course tomorrow is Friday, and he is scheduled for another surgery (I'll talk more about that later) so we will need to go visit with him early in the morning, and then later tomorrow we will be able to visit with him again. He was visited by a bunch of different doctors with all of them asking him the same basic questions of, "How are you feeling? Where do you have pain? Can you tell me where you are?" etc., etc. Then came the psychiatrist, who wanted to be sure of his mental abilities and neurological issues. He began with those same questions then asked, "Do you know wh...
I met Jason Friday 21 September and have the utmost respect for him. I have to say as most already know he is a tough Marine. I was onboard USS COLE when it was attacked by Al Queda on 12 Oct 2000 and was honored to meet Jason. I had told him that we are connected as what happened that day has lead to 9/11 and the events of today. We talked for quite a while and it was great talking with him. God bless you and your family as you endure this long road to recovery.

ReplyDeletePsalms 18:30-32 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

I had written Jason a letter after article in Times--it was returned to me from San Diego Medical center. I kept the letter and would like to send it to where Jason might receive it.
ReplyDeleteIs there some way to give an address in this blog?
I was very touched by his story--but I am unfamiliar with blogging etc and do not want my information posted,,
Thanks

ReplyDeleteEphesians 3:16-21 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

ReplyDeleteIsaiah 43:1-3a But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel...

What words of comfort! Praying so right now!
ReplyDeleteRevelation 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
