Well, considering how I started yesterday's post I felt I should follow it up with a little more information. I will be going to the folks here, at Balboa, who were directly responsible for establishing our travel, and check with them on what was or was not done. Of course I will have to wait until Tuesday, as tomorrow is an official government holiday, so those that are not impacted by the shut down (I think there might be as many as 7 civilians still working) will have the day off anyway.

Today was a nice day for us, with nothing to do except some laundry and shopping. Jason did want to go see Captain Philips, so we went to the early morning showing, and then on to Costco. The movie was good, I would recommend it to just about anyone. It gave a good portrayal of what happened, and even though I knew what happened, based on news reports, the suspense was still there. We went to the matinee, but only because the time slot was available, and we would have enjoyed it at a later showing as well.

Our visit to Costco was less exciting, though Jason did buy a new bed for Gracie (the dog) and perhaps I am only imagining things, but we seemed to have gotten in and out relatively quickly. They were very busy, yet moving people really well.

The girls are back with us tomorrow, so we should see them in the morning, though I don't know if I'll have to fix them breakfast. Doesn't matter though, we went to Costco and we have all the food we need in the house - especially breakfast food. Not sure what else we might be doing, as Jason sounded like he might want to stay down, so I might just walk the girls over to the park and let them play on the structures and burn off some of their energy that way. Not much else to write about right now, so I'll be signing off and in a short while, going to bed. Thank you, for all your continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

    I haven't commented in a while. Read by email every day.
    Thursday nights there is a dinner for Wounded Warriors an Parents at Balboa in the Liberty Center. There is a lady who works there every Thursday who would like to meet you and Jason. Ask for Moe, if you can make to the dinner one Thursday evening. I told her I would send you a message. The You Tube video on the concert page was great.

10 Alive Day (10 Years after the blast)

 Wow! It has been 10 years today, that Jason was injured and despite all the expectations from the medical folks, he's still alive and as positive and active as ever. Most of you are aware that he is into sled-hockey and that we haven't been able to get out and play for over a year now. There is a positive side to all this, though, as the timing of the shut downs and the length of the pandemic. It began just as Jason's team (the Ducks) was getting ready to go to the championship tournament, in Philadelphia, when everything was shut down. This meant that because they were defending champions they simply maintained the title. Then the following season was cancelled so the third year they have kept the title as well... trouble is that no- body wants to keep it that way. I know I haven't been keeping up with the blog and posting as often as I said I would, but I guess that's what happens when the days really do start to seem more normal, and don't feel like there is much to update about. Then when there is something exciting going on, by the time I can get to the blog I'm pretty well worn out for the day and then I'm slow to get to it afterward. Well, I will continue to provide updates, as I can and we'll just have to see where it takes us. Jason's sled hockey season is over and he had a great time with it. He was not able to go to the final tournament, in Chicago, due to travel challenges. First challenge was simply getting there - there really isn't any way to get there, that doesn't simply totally wear him out, and then he needs the next day to recover. Again, I have no reasonable excuse other than to say I got side tracked. On the last post I mentioned that Jason had gotten injured, while playing in the hockey tournament. Well, as it turned out it was a more serious injury than either of us had suspected. The outcome was that he lost some soft tissue and a section of his pelvic bone was exposed (about the size of a quarter) and he is now required to have a wound-vac so that it can heal properly. This means that he has to spend most of his time in bed and can only be up in his chair for no more than 20 minutes at a time, and that followed by hours of rest time. The rest time is for the injury, and not necessarily for Jason, as he isn't tired. As you can imagine, he gets very board with this "life style" and wants to get up and go do something.
