Another day closer to retirement, for Jason. Effectively he has 3 days left, and then the retirement ceremony on Monday (23rd). We spent a good portion of the morning getting sign-off signatures and as it turned out, we went to the C.O.'s going away luncheon that was held today. Yep, as Jason retires the C.O. is also moving on. It is a big week for the Wounded Warrior Battalion, here at Balboa. Actually we had been going around attempting to find people so that there signatures could be acquired when we heard about the luncheon. Jason knew there would be several of the signatures he needs, so we ended up just being there before everybody else showed up (by about 10 minutes) and they weren't going to kick us out of the room, so it worked out nicely. Jason picked up about half a dozen signatures - very nice.

Tomorrow we are going back to the hospital and I hope we can get most of the rest of the signatures, if not all of them. We have a special day tomorrow also, because Stacy is getting to come along with us, and be a part of Daddy's day. We will be attending a couple of appointments, and seeing other people, so Stacy will get a chance to see what Daddy's "work" is.

Tonight dinner was a little different, we all went to the USO. One evening a month they put on a dinner for all the military families, and we have never gone. Today was kind of fun and it was a little like exploring. The dinner was roasted chicken or pulled pork along with baked beans and potato salad, and a bread roll. The girls were excited about going and then after dinner they gave us brownies. Of course all who know me, know that I don't care for chocolate, so I skipped that part, but they enjoyed it.

Otherwise, today has been a nice and productive day. Thank you, for all the continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

  1. Was just thinking, what happens to his medical care after this happens? Will he be transferred to different drs?
Oh what words of comfort from our Lord. Praying in Seattle!
Romans 8:15-18 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

  2. Know that our Savior is always with us no matter what happens! Praying!
Romans 8:35, 37-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?...Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
