Today was Jason's last formation, though he will have to go through one more for his retirement ceremony on Monday, the 23rd (next week). He didn't seem to be bothered or excited about it, just that it was another step that was required. The big thing for today was to get more of the sign-out paperwork completed, and that was what we worked on today.
This morning we brought George along with us, so that he could get a glimpse of what it is Jason does on a regular basis, as a Wounded Warrior. George seemed moderately impressed, though like Jason, it is sometimes hard to tell. We traveled all around the hospital campus and effectively showed him around, and by noon (actually a little prior) we were heading back to the house. We also had in mind that George was to catch a 15:30 (3:30pm) flight back home, and that meant we needed to be at the airport by 14:30 (2:30pm). I was a little concerned at first, because sometimes that airport can be very busy. As it turned out, it was a little busy, but not too bad, and we made it to the gate with several minutes to spare. A sincere thank you to Roger and Linda Marley for assisting George to and from Oakland Airport.
It was good to have George come visit, and I know there will be other opportunities. This evening was fun and games with the girls, and especially because Grandma (Linda) took them to the library, where they came back with 20 new books. Stacy is so excited about being in the summer reading program, and wanted to be sure to share all her books with us. Jason, Linda and I read several of them with her already and Jackie was having a happy time as well. This is pretty much what I anticipate the summer to be, and as far as I am concerned, it is a good way to expect the summer to be. Thank you, for all the continued prayers and all the support. Take care and stay positive.

Just keep track of those books! I think we had enough fines when the kids were little to build a new wing onto the library! It's amazing how quickly those books can disappear!
ReplyDeleteSuch amazing verses and comfort! The Holy Ghost Himself is praying for you!
Romans 8:26-28 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
