March 20, 2014 - Spring has sprung

As I sit here, writing this blog, it is easy to tell that Spring has sprung, as fireworks are going off over the Bay. We have been here for over two years have so far have not had the opportunity to go out and watch the fireworks display/show, and I am hoping that we eventually do get a chance. Happy Spring, everyone, it is the time of new birth and new life... though there is still lots of snow on the East Coast.

We got up this morning and got ready for the trip over to Balboa. The appointment was set at 10:10 and the ambulance arrived at 09:10. When I answered the door I made the comment that they were really early, and that was still getting a few things together (I finally remembered to bring the supplies we have here, that we really don't use, and they do want). Anyway, I was finishing up the breakfast dishes and putting stuff away when I finally let them in, and they went to go get Jason on to the gurney, for transport.

Once at the Wound Care, Rod was waiting for us and we got going quickly. The good news is that all the wounds are looking good and we felt pretty positive about its progress. The only down side is that a larger area is being vacc'd now, though that makes my job much easier. I only have to do a dressing change on an area about the size of a half dollar, and that area is continuing to progress.

Linda is back up in Livermore and working on as much as she can, while also getting a chance to connect with some of her friends. This may be the last time she sees some of them, for a longer period of time. We do get to talk on the phone, and that is good, so she is able to keep me informed of what is going on.

No appointments tomorrow, except for me, and that is a quick one. We are supposed to get some visitors from the Marines, and that will be good. The girls come back tomorrow afternoon, and will be with us for the next five days, so we have plenty of energy coming into the house. On top of all this, the Lincoln-Gateway Housing folks are working on Jason's backyard, and should be finished tomorrow (I hope before the girls arrive). I may take the girls grocery shopping, as they seem to enjoy doing that, especially when we can get one of those shopping carts that look like a car. Jackie loves to say, "Hi!" to everyone and Stacy loves to pretend to drive. I'm looking forward to the weekend. Thank you, for all the continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

  1. Glad things are progressing well! Such words of comfort! Continuing to pray!
1 Peter 1:18-19, 20 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot (21) Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
