Today started with a mad rush to get the girls up, dressed, fed and out the door to their schools. Of course the girls didn't know we were rushing, as they were happily playing and eating their breakfast just like normal. We needed to get things done in a "timely" manner, since we needed to be up to Fallbrook by 09:00 so that we could meet with some of the people who will be directly involved with the building of Jason's new home. As it was, traffic was great except for one accident, going the other way, so it only had a minor impact on our progress.

We got up there at almost exactly 09:00 (maybe 5 minutes late), and we all introduced ourselves to each other, since some of the people we hadn't met yet. Jason then transferred over to the paragolfer and we began to "walk" the property. I think I got a couple of shots that will show how the place is laid out, so I will get some of them on here by tomorrow. The funny thing is that I was wearing an older pair of shoes (New Balance) and they picked up just about every little weed and thorn, and by the time we were done my shoes were totally covered in with them. It was so bad that I just threw them away instead of attempting to clean them. When we left Linda noticed some smoke coming from the other side of a hill and asked if a fire had started. As it turned out a fire had started and we apparently got out of there none too early. When we got back to the house I was watching a local news report and found out that there were six fires, all around the San Diego County.

As a follow up to the meeting at the property we were to meet with all the folks (9 or 10 I think), for dinner and have a nice enjoyable time. What happened was that on 7 people showed up, because the rest of the folks were unable to come down the Interstate, because of the fires. As of right now we understand that there are still several areas where the fires are and the firefighters were slowly getting control of them. I hope no one is injured and no more homes are burned.

The dinner was still nice, but we all were concerned about the fires. The evening was still filled with good conversation, and we got a chance to meet more new people. This is going to be a good project and will allow Jason to live a more normal life, raising his daughters. Thank you, for all the support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.

  1. Fires are so scary! One little spark and it can spread so fast! And from what I heard on the news, it isn't even really fire season yet.
    Praying!
Lamentations 3:21-26 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
