Jason had a couple of appointments today, and we were much more efficient about them this time. Because Jason was up so much on Monday, I didn't want him to be up anymore than he had to be today. There was a little sign on his right side that indicated he was putting too much pressure on that particular wound, so I said it was to be limited as much as possible today, and it seemed to work. We left just a little after 09:00 this morning and we were back by noon, with Jason getting back in bed quickly. He said he never felt uncomfortable, and I was glad for that, I'm just being a bit more protective today. There was nothing discovered, or covered at the appointments today, so not much to write about there, other than him getting to do some different exercises in Occupational Therapy.
Okay, I guess you might be asking yourself, "Wasn't there supposed to be some sort of an update today?" And, the answer is yes (and no). There were two areas that were to get some special attention, and they were the wounds themselves, and the HO. Well, there was some attention, but only the wounds have any kind of a real update. The wounds are not closing like they want them to, so they have suggested a new, experimental, type approach with laser treatment that is supposed to help stimulate closure. Not sure when, exactly it is supposed to begin, but perhaps within the next few days. The issue with the HO is simply that they really don't know what they need to do, at least not at this time. They were working with the Plastics team, and now the discussion is moving over to Orthopedics. It is hoped that the right skill set is here, and we won't have to go anywhere to get the needed treatment, but we will go if needed.
The rest of the day was spent just relaxing and getting caught up on a few things. I will continue to catch up on a few more things, including the registration for his truck. I just need to get it down to be smogged, and then it will be ready to have the actual tags put on the truck. So stay tuned for the next exciting adventure with Jason's truck...

I LOVE the new pics!! I see Stacy has the LadyBug dress on, very cute :-) The girls are getting so big, I can't believe how much they have grown in just 3 months! Jason looks great and so does grandpa and grandma.
ReplyDeleteI hope and pray something can be done for Jason. I am curious to find out what the orthopedic folks come up with. I continue to pray for everyone.
I'll be gone for a week so I'll wish you, Jason, and George and family a very Happy St. Patrick's Day. I remember the doctor asked you what day it was and you told him the date of the feast of St. Patrick. JASON YOU ROCK. I wish you continued luck and love to you and your family.

Wow George- I am intrigued by the idea of using laser to encourage would closure. If you know any links where I could read about that technique I would love to learn more.
