A little crazy this morning, as Jason had an early appointment and I still needed to get the girls to their pre-schools. Then I found out that the Ambulance service, who was to be transporting Jason, didn't have a dispatch record on the books for Jason, today. They did have one for tomorrow, but there is no appointment for tomorrow. Anyway, I was on the phone with them and got it all corrected, and we still made the right time for the appointment. (more on the Care Ambulance folks later)

At the appointment we took a look at the wounds and found out one very surprising thing... ALL THE ORIGINAL WOUNDS ARE NOW CLOSED! I was so happy to see this, and on top of that the incision that is still healing is looking better. I am very hopeful that the wound vac will be gone next week, and that in a matter of one or two weeks Jason will be able to sit up again. Probably not for prolonged periods, at first, but still able to sit up. This at least gets him back to the "new normal" and hopefully able to take steps to get his life going again.

Once we were back home and lunch taken care of we were able to relax a bit and get into a few other chores we wanted to get taken care of. Well, actually I was the one doing most of the chores, but Jason was able to get on line and take care of whatever he wanted to. One of the things I needed to do was contact the folks at Care Ambulance  (told you I'd get back to them), and schedule another transport for Jason on Thursday, the next appointment. I wanted to make sure that the order was done right this time so I was taking my time with the person I was speaking with. Joselyn, the Home Health Aid helping with Jason, over heard a great deal of the conversation and was amazed at how many times I had to repeat myself, just to make sure this guy was getting the information down correctly. I will be giving them a call again tomorrow, just to be sure the information is right, and to give me some warm fuzzies that this Thursday goes better.

The rest of the day was laid back and I had plenty of time to read stories to the girls. They like it when I do voices for the different characters. I'm not as good as their Daddy, but I do what I can. They went to bed very well, and tomorrow is going to be another great day. Thank you, for the continued support and prayers.     It's not good that you can't count on transportation! This is their job! To be there when needed!

10 Alive Day (10 Years after the blast)

 Wow! It has been 10 years today, that Jason was injured and despite all the expectations from the medical folks, he's still alive and as positive and active as ever. Most of you are aware that he is into sled-hockey and that we haven't been able to get out and play for over a year now. There is a positive side to all this, though, as the timing of the shut downs and the length of the pandemic. It began just as Jason's team (the Ducks) was getting ready to go to the championship tournament, in Philadelphia, when everything was shut down. This meant that because they were defending champions they simply maintained the title. Then the following season was cancelled so the third year they have kept the title as well... trouble is that no- body wants to keep it that way. I know I haven't been keeping up with the blog and posting as often as I said I would, but I guess that's what happens when the days really do start to seem more normal, and don't feel like there is much to update about. Then when there is something exciting going on, by the time I can get to the blog I'm pretty well worn out for the day and then I'm slow to get to it afterward. Well, I will continue to provide updates, as I can and we'll just have to see where it takes us. Jason's sled hockey season is over and he had a great time with it. He was not able to go to the final tournament, in Chicago, due to travel challenges. First challenge was simply getting there - there really isn't any way to get there, that doesn't simply totally wear him out, and then he needs the next day to recover. Again, I have no reasonable excuse other than to say I got side tracked. On the last post I mentioned that Jason had gotten injured, while playing in the hockey tournament. Well, as it turned out it was a more serious injury than either of us had suspected. The outcome was that he lost some soft tissue and a section of his pelvic bone was exposed (about the size of a quarter) and he is now required to have a wound-vac so that it can heal properly. This means that he has to spend most of his time in bed and can only be up in his chair for no more than 20 minutes at a time, and that followed by hours of rest time. The rest time is for the injury, and not necessarily for Jason, as he isn't tired. As you can imagine, he gets very board with this "life style" and wants to get up and go do something.
