Another early day, with Jason heading off to formation, and then immediately afterward he had a class he was to attend. That class was to be an hour, so I decided to walk around the hospital compound and take care of a few things, where there were conflicts in this weeks schedule. The conflicts were easy fixes, just needed to be taken care of, so that they no longer existed. I figured I had plenty of time, since Jason had told me the class was going to be an hour. As it was, I was done in a little over a half hour and walked back to the van. I opened the door and sat down, thinking I was going to get a little rest and Jason showed up. So much for an hour long class.
We headed on back to the house, where the first thing Jason wanted was to take a shower, and then I did a dressing change. Everything is looking good, though it is going to take some time for the two areas to heal over. All the serious wound areas are basically closed, with those two that resulted from shearing motion are looking better. I think we have found the formula to prevent them from happening again, and when we get a chance to speak with Dermatology (Dr. Shoemaker) I will be making some suggestions that I think will help in the long run, for a more permanent situation for Jason.
The rest of the day was spent at the DMV, where I will be heading again tomorrow. The folks from North County Warrior Support have donated a van for Jason's use and I need to transfer the title over to us, so that we can pick it up. It will then be permanently set for our use, and the loner vans that we have been using will effectively go back into the general population for all to use. We will continued to use this "new" van (it is a refurbished older van), that Jason will actually be able to drive, until his own vehicle (a truck) is ready for him. These are some exciting days right now.
Tomorrow is going to be a special day, as a good friend of ours is coming for a short visit, and we haven't seen them in years. Jim and Harriet Boomer are out here, in San Diego, for another personal reason, and decided to look us up, so we're having lunch together, tomorrow. To give you an idea, Jim and I worked at National Semiconductor, a few decades ago, and though we went different directions we've stayed in touch. It was be good to see them again. Thank you, for all the continued support and prayers. Take care and stay positive.
