Jason had about the best day yet coming out of the PACU, as he really did look the best I've seen, in a long time. He is still very sensitive with some of the areas, related to the wounds and graft sites, and all of that is getting better. Initially I was a bit concerned about how long it was taking him to get back to his room, but all that faded away once I saw him and figured the extra time was taken to make him just a little more comfortable. There is always a bunch of activity as soon as he gets back to his room, with the nurse and others coming in to get caught up on all of what they are supposed to be doing and making sure he has all his meds. When all of that was done we kicked back again and watched the Redskins and Eagles game. Neither of us is a fan of either team, so we watched for the entertainment value, and it was a good way to continuously catch the updated scores for the 49er game, that we couldn't watch. The good news is that 49ers won, even if the coaches wanted to continue the game afterward. The Redskins game was good to watch anyway.

Lt. Col. Mark and Caroll Tarter came by to say, "Hi" and Jason was very happy to see them. Lt. Col. Tarter had just gotten back from Germany and wanted to come by to see Jason and congratulate him on his promotion. It is all part of the EOD family and those folks really do stick together better than most groups, and support each other. They were visiting with Jason for nearly 30 minutes when they had to go, as there were others they wanted to stop and see. A little after they left Tom and Carol Hall came by with more greetings and thanks from their church and friends. They brought by some gifts that the people have continued to give, and it has really helped to lift spirits. We all talked for about 20 minutes then they had others to see.

Jason will be going back to the PACU tomorrow, and will be leaving early in the morning. That is part of the reason this post is actually coming out a little earlier than usual. I need to get to sleep so I can get over to see him prior to Jason going off in the morning. I am hoping that this will be the last PACU visit for at least a couple days, as Jason wants to get out of the room and do more, so I will be anxious to hear what they have to say.

Thank you, for all your continued support and prayers, we truly appreciate it.

  1. Thank you Mr Ross for keeping us posted on your sons status. I was one of many stationed at one of the medical facilities your son was treated at in Afghanistan. I know that Jason may not remember us but he and all of his loved ones will always be in our prayers. I infact donated and issued a unit of blood and will never forget his name. His story helped get us through our darkest days.

  2. Know that I'm praying so at this end! Praying so hard for better and better days!
Revelation 7:16-17 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
