Not too bad of a day, though Jason was experiencing some extra pain, and wasn't able to sit in his chair for as long as he usually does. Fortunately we have to head over to the hospital in the morning, and that should allow for them to possibly provide some ideas/solutions to how he can better cope with it. I got him up and we did some things around the house, and we found that we actually had a little free time. He wanted to get back to his bed and take a nap, and this sounded great to me. After he got up I suggested to him that it would be an opportune time for him to take a shower, and then a dressing change. Because of the holiday, just past, his shower/dressing change schedule got a little out of whack (side note: What is "whack"?). Anyway, he agreed and so the shower felt good and he also looked good after.

There were some challenges with the internet, as neither of us could get on, for a few hours (not sure why), but it seemed to clear up later this evening (that's why I am blogging now). We have appointments in the morning so I will need to be moving early, to get him and the girls up and fed before we leave. With that, I'm going to be going to bed now, and will provide a little more in the way of updates tomorrow.

    Hi Jason, I still love to read that you are out of the hospital and now an out-patient! Having seen you in the early months it is just amazing how you have taken your recovery head on. Hope your pain has lessened today and that it is just from being out of your routine. Peace!

    Jason, I have been following along on the e-mail end of things... it's nice to have it pop into my e-mail each day rather than going through Safari. Just want to tell you how happy I am that you are out of the hospital and doing so well. It's so neat that your dad is there to lend a hand, how fortunate for BOTH of you. I bet the girls are keeping you both pretty busy! I teach Kindergarten and know how active little ones are, and how much fun they bring to your day. Keep it up and know we are all praying for you and your family. Great Job, George, thanks for the continued e-mails. I read every one.

10 Alive Day (10 Years after the blast)

 Wow! It has been 10 years today, that Jason was injured and despite all the expectations from the medical folks, he's still alive and as positive and active as ever. Most of you are aware that he is into sled-hockey and that we haven't been able to get out and play for over a year now. There is a positive side to all this, though, as the timing of the shut downs and the length of the pandemic. It began just as Jason's team (the Ducks) was getting ready to go to the championship tournament, in Philadelphia, when everything was shut down. This meant that because they were defending champions they simply maintained the title. Then the following season was cancelled so the third year they have kept the title as well... trouble is that no- body wants to keep it that way. I know I haven't been keeping up with the blog and posting as often as I said I would, but I guess that's what happens when the days really do start to seem more normal, and don't feel like there is much to update about. Then when there is something exciting going on, by the time I can get to the blog I'm pretty well worn out for the day and then I'm slow to get to it afterward. Well, I will continue to provide updates, as I can and we'll just have to see where it takes us. Jason's sled hockey season is over and he had a great time with it. He was not able to go to the final tournament, in Chicago, due to travel challenges. First challenge was simply getting there - there really isn't any way to get there, that doesn't simply totally wear him out, and then he needs the next day to recover. Again, I have no reasonable excuse other than to say I got side tracked. On the last post I mentioned that Jason had gotten injured, while playing in the hockey tournament. Well, as it turned out it was a more serious injury than either of us had suspected. The outcome was that he lost some soft tissue and a section of his pelvic bone was exposed (about the size of a quarter) and he is now required to have a wound-vac so that it can heal properly. This means that he has to spend most of his time in bed and can only be up in his chair for no more than 20 minutes at a time, and that followed by hours of rest time. The rest time is for the injury, and not necessarily for Jason, as he isn't tired. As you can imagine, he gets very board with this "life style" and wants to get up and go do something.
