Jason and the girls were up early this morning, and so were Linda and I... Actually Linda and I were the ones getting the girls up and ready to go, so that Jason could be at his formation this morning. It wasn't anywhere near as difficult as I thought it might be, to get them going. Yesterday was a pretty active day for them, so they went to bed really tired and I thought they would be tough to get up this morning. As it was, we were able to get up; get everybody in the van; and, made it over to the base with minutes to spare. Of course we did drop Jason off first and then we took the girls to day care, but that just made it a little easier for us, and Jason.
Jason's formation was his first, while being dressed in his "new" uniform. The camouflage blouse that he can now wear looks really good on him, and at the end of the formation the First Sergeant took the time to talk to all the guys, and suggested that they should consider doing the same. They are not "required" to dress in anything other than PT gear, and now SSgt Jason Ross has raised the bar, so-to-speak, with the First Sergeant apparently supporting him. The First Sergeant is also a Wounded Warrior, with an amputee to his right leg, so he knows what some of them have gone through. Anyway, it was a good gathering.
Jason had one other appointment, and it gave Linda and I some time to go visit with CMDR Ledyard, and it was nice being able to just sit down and relax and chat for a while. Sometimes all one really needs is an opportunity to just do that, relax and talk. The rest of the day was spent relaxing around the house and Linda getting a chance to go do what she really enjoys doing, and that is visiting thrift stores. Sometimes she finds some real treasures, and other times she just walks around and looks. Fortunately, most of the times she is just doing that... looking.
Tomorrow Jason will be taking Gracie to her training lessons, later in the morning. Linda and the girls will be staying at the house. We should be back before noon, so that means I will be able to get a ride in. I took my bike to one of the local shops here (I really do miss Livermore Cyclery), and they look pretty good, so I'm trusting my bike to them, we'll see what happens. Only other thing I want to do is to work on the backyard, and do some clean up there. Thank you, for all the continued prayers and support - Take care and stay positive.
