Today was what I would call a different kind of day. We got up in the morning and the fact that Linda is here is different, but that isn't what made this a different kind of day. After breakfast we walked the girls over to their mom's house, to drop them off, and that was different, but that isn't what made this a different kind of day. What made it a different kind of day was that fact that Linda and I took off to head up to Los Angeles, and effectively left Jason alone for the majority of the day. He did have a nice visit from George Bowen and a friend (sorry I don't recall his name), and Jason really enjoyed the visit. We were up at our grandson's 1st birthday party, and didn't get home until this evening. That's what made is a different kind of day.
The birthday party was fun and we had a great time with our grandsons, and with everybody else that was there. Ethan loved being the center of attention, and Dylan didn't show any signs of being upset that he wasn't. Dylan showed us a new game of lemon baseball - where he takes one of the lemons off the tree in their backyard, and places it on his T-stand (commonly used in T-ball). The idea is to hit it with the bat and see where the lemon goes. It eventually changed to pitching the ball, where Dylan's friend started doing that and Dylan picked up the T-stand and used that as a bat. As you can imagine, the game deteriorated after that, but they still had fun.
The drive home was uneventful, just long. The traffic out of LA was horrible, but that was expected. We came back down via I15, and that moved much faster, and we got home sooner than we thought, which was good. Jason asked for Taco Bell, so we picked that up and other than one more quick trip out to Target, we stayed at the house. Tomorrow, Jason has an appointment with the VA, and that is supposed to take three hours (possibly more), and then we get to come back home. I'm going to attempt to get a short ride in, but not sure exactly how that is going to go, but I'm optimistic. Thank you, for all the continued prayers and all the support being sent our way. Take care and stay positive.
