Jason had no appointments today, at least that's how the day started out. I figured that I could get the girls over to their day care a little later than usual and still have plenty of time to go for a much needed bike ride. As it turned out, prior to leaving to take the girls I went in to see Jason, to say good-bye, and he tells me that he has to meet with his section leader this afternoon at 13:00. Apparently there was some paper work that needed to be done, and they had forgotten to tell Jason about it, until this morning. As it was, I still have a couple of hours to get a ride in, though I would have liked to have had three hours, without any concern about when I got back. At least I know that Linda will be here tomorrow, and that will relieve some of the time pressures that I have been working with.
My original plan was to take some hills and do some work on building up my lungs and legs, because hills are what I find the most challenging. I did get in over 17 miles today, with a bunch of it hills, and made it over half way to Torrey Pines. I would like to be able to make a couple of rides over Torrey Pines before the two day event comes along. Actually, I guess now is a good time to start asking for support with the ride. If you can sponsor me for the ride I would greatly appreciate it, and the amount can be anything that you're comfortable working with. I also believe that you can do it anonymously. Just go to the following web site:
www.eodride.org/sponsor-a-rider then select: San Diego CA Rider and scroll down the list until you find my name. It might be on the 2nd page or even 3rd, so don't let that first page fool you. My goal is to be higher than last year, and that means over $5,000. Okay, enough for the ride.
Tonight we had Dino Chicken Nuggets with rice and vegetables, and both girls really went after the nuggets and the veggies. Jackie also ate the rice like it was the best thing she had eaten in days. I'm not sure why they go after these things, and other things a little more reluctant to eat, but I was sure glad they ate well tonight. We stayed up afterward and played some drawing games, where one of them would suggest something and I'd do my best to draw a picture of it. Two of them, Lady GaGa and Superman ended up being just stick figures, but the girls still seemed to enjoy the fun. When I finally stopped doing it Jackie took the drawing slate to Daddy, and continued with him. I thought it was great as it got the two of them together and I'm not sure who was having the more fun. Both Stacy and Jackie told Daddy good-night and we headed off to their bed room.
When it was finally time for bed I told them a bed time story about Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket, and Stacy was totally in to the story. Jackie likes to listen, but I don't know how much she is able to follow. After that I got them to go to bed, and reminded them that Grandma was coming tomorrow. Thank you, for all the continued prayers and support, and take care and stay positive.
Know that you're always in my prayers.
