Today was a busy day for Jason, though not a great deal was accomplished. Jason and Bridgette are splitting (getting a divorce), and it saddens me that it has come to this, in their relationship. I won't go into detail, at least not now, all of the issues that have come, just that it seems that they are both irrevocably decided on this course, and as Bridgette asked, Jason agreed. As a result, there are a number of things that Jason feels he needs to get done, and because of the holidays it is difficult at best, to get much of anything done. We are all still living in a single residence, though Bridgette has found a place she is going to be moving to. It is unclear as to where the girls will be living, but we hope they stay here, at least initially so that it isn't too disruptive to them.

This has caused a higher level of stress on Jason (and me) and he has missed a couple of appointments - and I'm not happy about that. I will be working more closely with him to be sure his appointments are kept in the future. Dinners are a little strange in that we never seem to know what is going to be happening until it is time to eat. Yesterday Jason ordered a pizza, and it was plenty big for everyone. Today, Bridgette brought in Del Taco, though neither Jason or I had much of it (I had one taco and Jason ate a bean burrito).

Next year is going to be a better year for Jason and we do look forward to it. I hope that I don't have to write again about the divorce in the future, its just that I felt you all should know what is going on. Thank you, all for your continued support and prayers. I am sure God has a plan for Jason... I just hope to learn more about what that might be sooner rather than later.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear this! Praying so hard that Jason will always be able to be near his kids!
Psalms 61:1-4 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

  2. I am so sorry that it has come to this. It's very sad for everyone. I would hope that the Marines insist on some couples therapy for them and some family therapy for everyone else, together, so that the little gals have the healthiest and most loving adjustment that the adults in their lives can provide. We will pray for the well-being of all of you. Please know that your family, friends, and support group are standing tall with you folks as your travel this journey.

Just ask if their is anything specific that you need, we're here for you.

    All our best,

  5. I'm so sorry to hear this, praying Jason will be able to look at the bigger picture for his little girls sake and continue his therapy so he can get in the best shape possible (physically and emotionally) for his girls. One thing without question is the love and commitment between the team from the beginning of this road, that of father and son (with mom's support too). You will all be in my prayers.

  6. Sad news; too common amongst our troops returning home from war (wounded or not). God bless Jason and the girls; I'll be praying for Jason to have the strength to get past this and stay on the road to healing in all aspects of his life. Hugs to both of you {{{Jason}}} and {{{George}}} You are never alone...

  9. Very very sad news. I can't imagine how Jason, yourself and everyone else feels. You are in our thoughts back here. Anything else said right now would be cliche at best.
