Well, we're a little closer to getting home, with at least a second target date now in front of us - March 15, at the latest. That still leaves open the possibility that it could happen sooner, so this weekend I get some of the packing accomplished. Fortunately, there really isn't too much to pack, and aside from his chairs, there really isn't that much to ship.

Jason only had the one appointment today, so we got to spend some time visiting and going to a couple of different places at the hospital. It was nice to see some of the folks we haven't seen in a while, but still it was kind of strange going in with a conversation that went something like this:

"Hi!, great to see you, we're leaving in a couple of weeks, or sooner."

Of course that wasn't ever actually said, but that is how it felt to me.

We had a couple of sandwiches for lunch today, and that was good, since we still do have some food here. Then for dinner tonight, we both kind of got in the mood for Chinese food... and so I went out and talked to a local firefighter, and he suggested that we go to this one particular restaurant, so that's what we did. Then the plan all fell apart. The parking was almost non-existent, right next to the restaurant, so I drove over to a parking garage that was close by. It was a reasonably large parking structure, looked like it would hold about 150 vehicles (maybe more), and it had some handicap parking, too; just none available. There were six (6) handicap parking slots and they were all taken, as well as the rest of the garage was full. I was actually a little disappointed that there were only six spaces, so we finally left and ended going to Taco Bell, and driving through to get our food.

We got back to the room and ate, then Jason put on a movie that he had rented earlier (Red Box) and I came to take care of my email and get this blog posted. Actually, I have a webinar that I want to listen in on tonight, and that starts pretty soon. It is for Policy Governance of a non-profit group... Sounds exciting, doesn't it? Thank you, for all your continued prayers and all the support coming our way. Take care and stay positive.

  1. Oh no, no parking???? Why don't you try and go for lunch tomorrow? Sounds like you could be back in California in time for St. Patrick's Day? That is a good sign, good luck coming your way!! The weather has been stellar here, today was 73 at 3pm. The trees are blooming, daffodils coming up, birdies singing!! Only 1 more month until Opening Day, hurray. I hope you both are feeling well and doing well. It will be good to have you back in San Diego. Oh, is it possible to find out Dr. Malone's address where she is deployed?

    Take good care,
