Jason had a good day today, with a very good work out at the gym, I mean PT, with me doing most of the conditioning with him. Actually the day started as it usually does with OT, just prior to PT, only this time there was just a great deal of activity and there was no place for him to do his regular OT work, in their area. As a result he came over to one of the PT mats, and just stayed there for both hours. One of the Marine Generals came by to visit with Jason for a short while, and I think that made him feel pretty good. The General had come by to visit with Jason, shortly after he first arrived at that hospital, back in August, and I guess Jason had a bit of an impression on him. This was the first time for me to have met the General, and I simply did not get his name, so I apologize for that.

Today was a little different for me too, as I received a message that I was "invited" to an NMA (Non-Medical Attendant) meeting, and it was starting just as we were finishing up with the PT. Jason had all he needed for wound care, so I took off to go see what this meeting was about. It is an effort to make sure that the NMAs were all receiving the help they need and that they (we?) didn't have any issues or problems that needed to be dealt with. As far as I am concerned, things are going the way I would like them to, and that the only immediate issue for me was making sure that Linda was picked up at the air port tomorrow, when she flies in. Some of the folks, however, had a number of things that needed to be corrected, or at least followed up on. I don't know if it is because Jason is a Marine, or if I just lucky, or what, but those with the biggest issues were on the Army side. I really do feel the Marines have all the bugs worked out and have a pretty smooth operations. Army is playing catch up... in my humble opinion.

After the meeting I walked back down over to the room and had to pass the Warrior Cafe', and saw Jason there. The Wounded EOD Warriors were there (every Wednesday) to have lunch with all the EOD guys, and it made me feel pretty good to see him there. I was glad to see him getting some social interaction without me being the push to make it happen. In fact, I just came back to the room and only stopped in to check on him and to say a quick, "Hi!" The rest of the day was very laid back and now here it is the end of another day. I'm anxious for tomorrow to happen, so that Linda and I can have some time together again, and it also brings us another day closer to getting back to San Diego. Thank you, for all your continued support and all the prayers.

  1. Know that I'm always here praying!
Isaiah 53:4-6 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
