Jason started today quite early, in that he went down to the PACU at about 6:00AM, to get ready for his procedure. The procedure was pretty much the same as the previous two, and he was back up in his room before 10:00AM. This means that there was nothing new to consider with his wounds and that is a very good thing. The rate of his healing is now at a steady pace, and that is also a very good thing. Bottom line is that today has been a nice quiet day, with Jason feeling pretty good, and not much else going on.

He had a few visitors, besides family, and a new nurse (new in the sense that he had not seen her before). If tomorrow is anything like today I am going to do my best to get him involved in a board game or something, other than watching TV and movies. I want him to start using his hands more, like the PT and OT folks have asked him to do; and besides there are supposed to be games available for them to play, so now is a good time to use them.

I have to admit, it was quite crowed in his room, at one point today, when both Mom and I were there, along with Bridgette and both girls. Anybody else to come in the room would start to feel a bit cramped. Jason was able to spend a little more time with the girls and played with both of them a little. One of the best moments was when Stacy just wanted to sit next to Daddy and hold his hand. I think that made Jason feel better than any of the medications he has had, and did more to help him heal emotionally, than anything else that has come along.

    Sounds like a nice calm day, what a blessing. Jason, I can picture your little girl wanting to sit next to you and hold your hand. Brings tears to my eyes. I hope grandpa can take some pictures tomorrow of you and your girls. They will cherish them when they are adults. Wishing you, Jason, and George, a very Happy Father's Day tomorrow.     I second that. A Father's Day picture tomorrow would be great. As always, it will be hard with squirming kids, but that is half the fun- just seeing what you can capture. Wish I could be there to help. Well, however you spend it, know that we are sending our wishes for a Happy Father's Day Jason and George!

10 Alive Day (10 Years after the blast)

 Wow! It has been 10 years today, that Jason was injured and despite all the expectations from the medical folks, he's still alive and as positive and active as ever. Most of you are aware that he is into sled-hockey and that we haven't been able to get out and play for over a year now. There is a positive side to all this, though, as the timing of the shut downs and the length of the pandemic. It began just as Jason's team (the Ducks) was getting ready to go to the championship tournament, in Philadelphia, when everything was shut down. This meant that because they were defending champions they simply maintained the title. Then the following season was cancelled so the third year they have kept the title as well... trouble is that no- body wants to keep it that way. I know I haven't been keeping up with the blog and posting as often as I said I would, but I guess that's what happens when the days really do start to seem more normal, and don't feel like there is much to update about. Then when there is something exciting going on, by the time I can get to the blog I'm pretty well worn out for the day and then I'm slow to get to it afterward. Well, I will continue to provide updates, as I can and we'll just have to see where it takes us. Jason's sled hockey season is over and he had a great time with it. He was not able to go to the final tournament, in Chicago, due to travel challenges. First challenge was simply getting there - there really isn't any way to get there, that doesn't simply totally wear him out, and then he needs the next day to recover.  First - Happy Easter to you all!! We attended the 11:00am services and it was packed. This was a much happier and more "normal" Easter than last year, and I'm glad. I want to apologize that I didn't get any pictures, but I do know that Linda has taken a few these past several days, so it is just a matter of me getting time with her 'droid and then I can pull a few over here. It has been an amazing last several days... yet it all began a little over three (3) years ago. You see, Amber H.
