I woke up this morning to a quiet house, where Jason and the girls were still asleep. This just means I can take a few moments to brush my teeth and start the day. I checked my email and found that I didn't have much "overnight" email, which was good, and then I went down to check on the rest of the household. The girls were now awake and so was Jason. I got down there and I guess Stacy heard me coming because she was calling for "Grandpa" before I got to the room She wanted to let me know that Jackie was making noise and it woke her up. I told her that it was okay this time, since it was time to get up now anyway.

I got the girls up and then got Jason some breakfast. I fed the girls breakfast and finished getting them dressed and ready for the day. I was particularly pleased that Jason got himself ready, and that other than bringing him breakfast, I really didn't do much else. We loaded up into the van and then went over to the Naval Base to drop the girls over at the day care and get Jason over to his first meeting. He actually had a couple of things that needed to be taken care of, one of them being with the VA, and then we were going to be headed back to the house. I had my appointment, and it was over at noon, which was to coincide with Jason's schedule, but then he found out that there was a "town hall" meeting he was supposed to attend. It was to be a final meeting for the departing base commander, while at the same time an introduction to the new hospital command. There is two different command structures and they simply have to work together and resolve issues together.

After the meeting we finally got back to the house where Jason took a shower and I changed his dressings. We really didn't need to eat lunch since the town hall meeting had sandwiches for everyone. Jason spent the rest of the day in bed and spent some time with his video games, as well as sleeping. I relaxed in the front room and cleaned up a couple of things, as well as fixed dinner (it was easy since all I had to do was re-heat the soup from last night - good soup the second time too!). Tomorrow should be another easy day, and we found out that Gary Sinise will be here tomorrow and we were asked to come by so we will be heading to the base at about 09:00, which means another easy morning. Thank you, for all your continued support and prayers, and take care and stay positive.

  1. That's so great that you can see Gary Sinise again! I was so upset that CSI:NY just faded away! I loved that show!
    Know that I'm here praying!
Psalms 40:16-17 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified. But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
